Join the Wave and Celebrate Earth Day

The first Earth Day was in 1970.  Senator Nelson, after seeing the damage done by a 1969 massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California, was inspired to organize a national "teach-in" that focused on educating the public about the environment. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

Earth Day events in more than 193 countries are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network
