Horses are great navigators, can traverse rough terrain with impressive agility, and achieve high speed. Horses can live to an average of 25 to 30 years old. The oldest verified hose lived to the age of 62. The fastest gallop on record that a horse has achieved is 55 miles per hour (88 kilometers per hour).
Horses have carried humans far and wide across the world, used in wars for thousands of years up to as recent as the time of this writing, and used to power manufacturing equipment. Many new lands have been discovered with the help of horses and much of our world has been built on the backs of these wonderful creatures. We owe a lot to them.
