Introducing Barb's Project M.O.M.
(monthly owners maintenance)
Here is the idea behind project M.O.M. :
If a cache has not been logged or has a couple DNF's within a months time either the cache owner or someone that may live nearby or goes by the cache on a daily basis could stop by to check on it. Then post a note letting everyone the cache is still there or has been replaced whatever the case may be.
As cachers and cache owners on the Space Coast, let's take the step to assure all of our local caches are the best kept caches around. We have a lot of people that come into the Space Coast area on cruise ships as well as from Orlando just to do some caching along the beaches.
Cache owners do not have to go out and check on every cache they have hidden every month that is not the idea here. Only if it has not been found or DNF's have been logged. We have some caches that have been stagnate for almost a year now with no finds and no notes from the owner stating if they are there or if they are gone. It is no fun to go out caching and spending time looking for something that is not really there.
So Space Coast Geocachers...let's take the step and put this project into motion. It will only make the Space Coast an even better place to cache and after all that is why we hide caches isn't it?
