I want to know what kind of caches people like to hide on the Space Coast. Is it an easy P&G, 5/5 cache, hard to get to cache, a mental challenge, or do like to make your own container? This thread is not to make fun of other people and choices, so don't please. I can't wait to see the results.

You'll sooner or later find that what people say in a forum thread is NOT what they do in real life.  With this in mind, I offer the following information for your own consideration.....

1.  Geocachers like to watchlist caches that they believe would be challenging......whether it's because the cache is a difficult multi, mind-blowing puzzle, well camo'd micro, etc.  So, generally if you look at how many geocachers are watching a particular cache, you'll get an idea of what interests the local geocaching community.  However, this does not mean that those folks will actually attempt to find the cache.

2.  The length and quality of a geocacher's find log will often give an indication of whether the cacher thought the cache was worth his/her time finding it.  Most folks won't waste their time writing a long log for a crappy hide.....heck, many won't take the time to write a good log for an excellent hide!  A simple "found the cache today with so and so, TFTH" usually means it was just another copycat bison tube hidden on a tree limb or a film can attached to a stop sign, etc.  Whereas, if you see a page long description of the geocacher's journey and a detailed account of the fun they had finding the cache, you can be fairly certain the cache owner has placed a cache that people will enjoy whether it's a micro, multi, long hike, etc.

So......what I'm saying is......don't believe what folks talk about on the forums.  Look at the cache pages and read the logs of those who have found the caches.....That's a good indication of what folks actually want to hunt!  If only 5 people find a cache within six months of publication.....the majority of the locals aren't interested in attempting to find it regardless of what they say on the forums.

A prime example would be the number of folks that have attempted your hides which are required to find the SCGA Challenge stick.......only one cache in the series has had more than 5 or 6 finders.  This doesn't mean that your caches are not good ( I know that they are all quality hides ) but you have to make a choice as to whether you want to hide caches that NOT many folks will take the time to search for OR just hide the easy ones that will attract the average geocacher.  (notice I didn't call anyone a weenie!)

#1 - I noticed that an archived Boonieman cache still has four or five folks watching it.  Must be quite the cache!  Actually, I may go there just to see the place.

#2  Of course, some goof bags write a long, detailed, exciting log on a park bench cache just for laughs.

Me, I just do what I feel like.  If I'm sick and tired I go after a couple of P&G caches just to lift my spirits.  Normally, I want to go to wild places.

I get a bit artistic. Except for one film canister (camo duct taped), my more recent caches
have personalized touches...

My choice isn't listed.
Being a bit new I have to say I like caches in interesting places. I like a size where items can be traded. As someone else said one should put something in a cache that they would like to find themselves.
What I really hate (I know that is another thread, but I'm on a roll) are cachers who do not service and keep their caches up to date. It seems to me people are afraid to suggest that a cache that hasn't been found in a year and the owner hasn't been on GC.com in months should be archived.

Kenttela you are right and i agree with your opinion. I like to go to interesting places too, sometimes it's hard to find some in Brevard.
